چکیده

We investigate the surface diffusion in a system of particles adsorbed on a lattice with two non-equivalent sites, whose number in the unit cell and adsorption energy are different. When the adsorption energies are comparable, the adparticle diffusion proceeds by uncorrelated adparticle jumps. In the opposite case, the adparticle migration proceeds by pairs of consecutive jumps. The contributions to the surface diffusion of these jump sequences depend considerably on the adparticle surface coverage and the relation between the adsorption energies. 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. Random deposition model with friction: Equivalent to ballistic deposition without lateral growth

The Random Deposition model is the simplest model for surface growth, where there is no correlation between the neighbor sites of the lattice. In the Ballistic deposition model, the particles stick to the first neighbor particle; thus it is used to describe the deposition of the sticky particles. However, in many true-life phenomena involving surface growth, there is no adhesion. Instead, the f...

Diffusion of particles adsorbed on a triangular lattice: pairwise and three-particle interactions

In the present paper, the influence of both pairwise and three-particle interactions on the mobility of adsorbed particles diffusing on a lattice with triangular symmetry has been studied. Two different techniques has been used for describing the surface diffusion phenomenon. On one hand, explicit expressions for the chemical and jump diffusion coefficients have been calculated by using realspa...

Study Of Inertia And Stoichiometric Effect On Surface Diffusion

In this work, we investigate the inertia and stoichiometric effect on surface diffusion of adsorbates particles. The study is done by means of Monte-Carlo simulation in the framework of the lattice gas model. Only first neighboring repulsive pair interaction is considered. We concentrate on the behaviour of the tracer diffusion coefficient Dt(θ), as a function of surface coverage θ in the case ...

Series expansion and computer simulation studies of random sequential adsorption

We discuss two important techniques, series expansion and Monte Carlo simulation, for random sequential adsorption study. Random sequential adsorption is an idealization for surface deposition where the time scale of particle relaxation is much longer than the time scale of deposition. Particles are represented as extended objects which are adsorbed to a continuum surface or lattice sites. Once...
